Even though I’m sharing one page at a time, Night Cats is actually an accordion book. Because I wanted to make a book with a fairly sturdy cover, but didn’t want to messĀ around with book board and bookcloth (which I have done for other projects), I purchased this Accordion Book with Tin kit and essentially took it apart so I could utilize its components. Because the pages in the Art-C accordion book were white — and because I knew this project was going to require more pages — I carefully separated it from the covers, and used it as a template on black Canson Mi-Teintes paper.
Materials: Canson Mi-Teintes drawing paper; Posca paint markers (which are hands down, the best paint markers I’ve ever tried), Winsor & Newton white drawing ink.
Initial sketching done with either a vintage Berol Verithin wite colored pencil (Verithin pencils are currently owned/manufactured by Prismacolor) or a Prismacolor white Col-Erase pencil.
